[News] Raekwon - Das Warten hat ein Ende

Nach Dre's "Detox" ist der zweite Teil von Raekwons Klassiker "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...", aus dem Jahre 1995, das wohl meist erwarte Album. Doch anstatt immer wieder mal irgendetwas anderes zu machen, lässt das Wu-Tang-Mitglied jetzt Taten folgen und veröffentlicht am 11. September "Only Built 4 Linx II".

Raekwon in einem Interview über sein neues Album:
"A lot of people wanted me to go back into that cocaine story, drug life world again. To me, that's the easiest shit for me to do. I'm an artist who wants to constantly grow and come up with more creativeness. So for people to say they love that Cuban Linx vibe, style, the Chinese / karate flick sayings, the eerie sounds, I just put all that in my memory bank and really went back out there searching for that production. We came out successful with what we needed."

Eigentlich wollte er das Album schon vor fünf Jahren releasen, doch wie er selbst sagt, braucht man eine Menge Zeit um einen wirklichen Classic zu erschaffen. Tatkräftige Unterstützung hatte er dabei natürlich von seinen Wu-Tang-Kollegen, aber auch Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes und Styles P werden auf den 24 Tracks zu hören sein. Und auch produktionstechnisch hat er mit unter anderem RZA, J Dilla, Pete Rock, Dr. Dre und The Alchemist nichts falsch gemacht, um eine würdevolle Fortsetzung seines Debütalbums zu liefern.
